This might be of passing interest.
See this video by Quidsup on his youtube channel - some of the technical bits went a bit above my head but the gist of what he's saying underlines what he meant when he said that adobe flashplayer "has more security holes than a collander" and so should be deleted from your computer.

In another video he expressed the view that though adobe flashplayer was bad enough on windows OS, it was even worse for Linux, as adobe had all but abandonned security updates for Linux....
I've renamed your title as this is an opinion. I don't think it's fair to alarm the linux community with such an inflammatory headline. All software is prone to exploit if it's not sanitized correctly. All views are respected, but not necessarily gospel.

oh okay - sorry, I didn't mean to alarm anyone.  :-[
I had thought that it was now widely accepted that this app posed a significant risk, given the onscreen data that quidsup shows, to back up his view.

I could name many pieces of software that run on linux that have a history of security issues, for example Wordpress, one of the most hacked CMS's in existence yet there are millions of websites that run it, the linux kernel, ssl, apache etc. It doesn't stop people from using them, but being informed is certainly helpful Smile
Old news. This is the latest.

I haven't used flash for several years. Not in my area of interest. But of course the little woman uses it with games.

If you have a real secret, don't save it on a computer.

TC
but what about pepperfash? is that a risk as well
This is a Windows World perspective....

Is Adobe Flash Player is a security risk?
Yes. Probably.
But that is besides the point . Flash is a miserable hellhole of flaky crap that has infested the Modern Computing Man for way to long. It needs to die in a burst of flames and sink into the depths of BSOD Hell from where it was spawned.
And take Shockwave with you.

Keep in mind,I am a Linux noob and it may be all Sunshine and Unicorn Farts under Linux.
