I have been trying to install said Brother. for quite a few days. When I try to paste the the following command into a terminal ,I get the followin error msg. " linux-bprinter-installer-.gz" no such file or directory.

Sorry I'm a bit late on this...hopefully you're still around. You need to first extract the .gz file. Inside is a script. Run it by opening a terminal wherever you extracted it and enter (replace x's with version number):
