I have had issues with my screen freezing after coming out of sleep mode. The situation has become so bad that I am now dual booting with another distro (Linux Mint) and have to resort to using that instead. The only way I can use LL is to power up from scratch. I don't want to kiss LL goodbye, can somebody suggest a remedy please? Should I wait until LL 3.0 is released? Can I upgrade over LL 2.8 - I read somewhere that is not possible. That being the case, what's the best alternative?

Thanks
Paul
Turning off light locker fixed it for me...

Thanks for the reply but light locker is already disabled  :-\
I think I've found the culprit of my problems - Compton compositing manager. I haven't had much success with compositing managers - Compiz was just as bad. I'd be interested to know if others have had similar issues. I removed it and voilĂ !

If anybody can suggest another alternative compositing manager for LL 2.8, I'm all ears.
