Full Version: How do I enable the 'wobbly windows' effect in LL2.8?

[size=1em]Following my experience of the somewhat amusing/intriguing 'wobbly windows' effect in Zorin OS, when I last used that OS a couple of years ago, I thought I'd try and reproduce the effect in LL2.8.
I've installed CompizConfig Settings Manager from Synaptic Package Manager, and have successfully installed the relevant compiz plugins by running the following command:[/size]

Code:
sudo apt-get install compiz compizconfig-settings-manager compiz-plugins

The 'wobbly windows' option in the CompizConfig Settings Manager has been ticked, together with the 'Composite' and 'OpenGL' options.
However, following more than one reboot, the wobbly windows effect doesn't seem to be activated.

Could it be that this effect is only compatible with a Gnome desktop (as in Zorin) and so therefore wont work with Linux Lite's XFCE?
As usual any help is much appreciated...
Cheers
Mike
I've tried Compiz on LL previously and honestly, I'm not a fan of it as it's very buggy. The effects do not always work but my biggest gripe is that quite often LL will not restart properly (I get a blank screen) after I suspend or hibernate. The same problem occurs with Compton. What we get out of the box from Jerry is the biggest strength of LL. Not worth tampering with useless effects IMHO  Smile

Many thanks torreydale & I think you may well be right pauloz.  I'll try torreydale's LL video link before finally giving up.

Cheers
