In the US a quick look on Amazon shows lots of
cheap WiFi devices..
Looks just like with Radio Gear, we pay the $ amount in £'s,
$5 vs
£5($7)
I would take a gamble on this
RTL based one does say LInux also..

for some reason when I Browse for the ISO it cannot see it
Is it because its 64bit not 32bit
LinuxLive Usb Creator sees it OK Giving that a try - I have used it OK before

For creating Bootable USB sticks in Windows I always used
Rufus, never any issues, and it is quick.
Just select the USB stick, select the .ISO file, Start.
If you're using Linux Lite to create a bootable USB of an ISO file, you can use the program Disks (Menu > Settings > Disks). After opening the application, select your USB drive on the left. Then from the settings/cog wheel in the upper right, select Restore Disk Image. When the popup window opens, select your ISO file and click on Start Restoring.
Not going well- I can boot 2.8 using usb drive OK but it very slow
I can log on to Wifi normally
Snag 2--- cannot update L L - cannot download Message---- couldn't fetch the package cache information lists --

Just managed to Install Chromium using Synaptic but Update and Lite Software still got problems -
Looks like the Gremlins have been waiting for me - loosing the will

I'd stick to the 64-bit as you wont have to go with Chromium...
Nevermind the updates - you're going to have failures on both "bits"
32 = Chrome needs removed
64 = Chrome needs updated
Thus far it looks like you're only in the live environment and haven't installed??
The wifi on the 3.19 kernel should work although "maybe buggy" from some of the posts I posted - where the newer kernel resolved..
Buggy could be, stability or drops... but 3.19 should get you installed and connected..
You are running on USB so it will be slower than when installed.
If everything is checking out for the most part and to your liking, you're probably good to go...
With my track record I would like to fully evaluate 2.8 - 64 bit on my machine before committing to installing it on my hard disk . At the moment I am unhappy that I cannot do an " Update "or add programs using " Lite Software "
Does anyone else have a problem with Update - With me it never gets past -
http://archive.ubuntu.com trusty/universe Translation-en_us - when trying to update sources [Updateing Software sources - please wait .... ] dialogue then I get an Error Message --" couldn't fetch the package cache information lists "
I'm not 100% sure - but I didn't think you could "install" in a live environment, its semi-persistent you can drop files onto it (/home) but they are not wrote to the disk, a reboot will revert back...
I know if the iso is installed onto a usb there is an option to have the usb hold a portion of a partition as empty space to have it persistent between boots( which allows you to install software on the USB ) and that allows you to save changes. However that option has to be taken advantage of at the creation of the usb live media.
