Not sure what's wrong. Need some help with this. I tried opening gparted, and after entering the requested password simply fails to materialise, even though it is on my setup as confirmed by synaptic package manager. Haven't had this problem before. Maybe linked to recently upgrading to LL2.8?
I've tried both the GUI and terminal route - neither works.
Any help is much appreciated
Mike
Just running gparted-pkexec should work. That aside doing sudo gparted give any output?

Thanks Shaggy.
Using the terminal, I get the following...
Code:
mike@LL-G750JS:~$ gparted-pkexec
hal-lock: symbol lookup error: hal-lock: undefined symbol: libhal_acquire_global_interface_lock
or,
Code:
mike@LL-G750JS:~$ sudo gparted
hal-lock: symbol lookup error: hal-lock: undefined symbol: libhal_acquire_global_interface_lock
or, simply
Code:
mike@LL-G750JS:~$ gparted
hal-lock: symbol lookup error: hal-lock: undefined symbol: libhal_acquire_global_interface_lock
That hal-lock reminds me of something??
Longshot...
You don't happen to have gparted running on another desktop??

Thanks Wirezfree - NO, I only have one desktop running.
O.K,
I had something similar, I think I had run Disk, got distracted, came back and ran it again...
Have you tried to run a "Live GParted", see if it maybe something going odd with your actual Disk Drive.??
