so now that you can see my specs, what is my GPU?
Am I better served by LL 2.4 being an older netbook?  Currently running 2.6 <latest>

@thera.. I have a similar system.. Its a Dell Netbook but specs are very similar, I have it running LL2.6
Code:
Dell Inspiron Mini - Atom N270 1.6Ghz - 1GB - Intel Mobile 945GSE Express (Almost certain Broadcom WiFi)
I had LL2.2 installed originally and upgraded it to LL2.6 - I cant say I have noticed any difference in performance from the 2 versions.
As Wirezfree mentioned its not a screamer; but for browsing, Office documents, email and the alike its fine..

My typical use (for work).. Connect to a VPN (over WiFi) and either RDP to various machines or run web/Java apps directly. It pushes along just fine...
Linux Lite runs much better than Win7... What can I say, I like the compact size  Wink
I got around to checking mine.. A couple commands...
If I recall it worked pretty much out of the box.
Code:
Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01)
Code:
Network:   Card-1: Broadcom BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY driver: b43-pci-bridge bus-ID: 03:00.0
got wireless
i used

sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source
Hello!

You have the LP-PHY wireless card, so if you have speed issues down the road, you may want use the b43 driver, instead. Get back with us if you need/want to do this...

Another option for folks looking at this post is install NdisWrapper. It is a Kernel module that allows Linux to use Windows drivers for wireless network devices.
