20150823 Dear Folk, I just loaded Linux Lite on an old machine. It loaded OK but did not set even though asked the Keyboard to UK keyboard (Check is # and £ signs from keyboard as they differ from USA keyboards). Not intuitive to set up keyboard as it required downloading extra languages and  then set up both system and regional.  Suggest you include a keyboard selector  in menu  for first time start up to sort it out.
Experience: Computer user since 1957 (very old mainframe) Usually use OpenSUSE at home and Windows 7 at work. This is a trial on an old computer from which an old MS OS has been removed. Eionmac

that was a issue for them.

We've covered this in other posts. It boils down to do you want a 5 or a 30 minute install time.

Hi,
I found that early on dragging English(United Kingdom) to top list,
Press "Apply Sytem-wide" solved the problems for me.
You find this in Language Support.

What was the make/model of the old computer you are using.  I had  set up problems initially on my fujitsu Siemens.  work around posted elsewhere on this forum.  I also deleted keyboard languages not of use just to be sure.
