Hello people of Linux Lite,

I too miss the 2.8 progress bar a lot. *cry* Sad
I'm a graphics designer and I have a few ideas for an infinite loading /spash screen if your interested.
But, could it be an animated GIF/PNG or multiple BMP/PNG files?

Othrewise, I'm not a programmer but if it is CSS3, you could use your loading "cube" from the download section of your site. Looks like this one but I guess you could change colors for black and white or version related (yellow-ish for Citrine): https://codepen.io/wenbin5243/pen/tcAeJ
I found it at a bunch of places on the web so theres maybe copyrights/usage issue.

Do you have some previous work we could look at? Thank you.
Back from shoveling snow... still alive! Wink

Well, I tried to PM you but looks like you can't put attachment in those, so I'm replying here.

Most of my recent work is in NDA (i.e. contracted and copyrighted by companies). But here's what is in my old resume. But, I guess the best way to show you what I can do would be to ask me for something and see for yourself. Wink Yep... that stuff is really old. Tongue

Its not for me but even if they are unused my resume include pictures for companies so... copyright and other intellectual property rights and are the exclusive property of their respective owners. You know, just to be on the safe side... Hehe, I dont usually post in forums  :o

***ADD :  Darnit, jpg attachements are not permitted here :-\  Like a certain Scotty would say : I can't do it ciptin! I don't have the power! PM me if you have a dropbox, hightail or other folder I can send that to.

You can upload the JPG to http://imgur.com.. Then copy and paste the BBC code into the forum..  If you ok with this route...

My 2 cents.

1- I propose something animated but not precisely a progress bar.
2- I'd use a dark background since it makes it blend better with a PC boot process/grub, etc. (although this could be considered a personal preference)

Here is my liteboot:
