How can I force detection of this Micr SD card.  Wish to transfer music files to the Micro SD -  The latter is working on mobile phone - windows OS

Thanks

PS  computer is recognising/reading other usb sticks OK
MicroSD Card is OK in phone - just retested - so presume it is OK.
Not sure if this is any help but I have a Microe brand USB card reader that won't work when plugged in and I put any type of card in it.
The card has to be inserted before plugging it in, then it works fine.
Do a Create System Report and attach it here. See if our drive reporting tools pick it up.
Jerry et al.  Thanks for the response.  The I think that the  problem was down to dirty contacts with the USB/ MicroSD card adaptor.  Managed to get some IPA on a tissue into the card reader  - whilst disconnected!!! -  and ditto wiped the contacts on the micro SD card and let evaporate.  Then card into adapror and then into USB port and all came up pronto Smile
However, for the records, neither  my SD card adaptor  or the separate micro sd card adaptor show up on the  desktop when plugged in and a card is not inserted.  The SD card reader had a green LED that lights up ,  so presumably "detected"?  The Micro SD card adaptor has no ligh to show it is working.      Is this to be expected??
BTW, I too have found that the SD cards need to be  inserted beforehand to get reliable detection.

Thanks again.

You're welcome Smile

Glad you were able to get it all working for you. As I've said here before, gold DOES tarnish.

It makes one wonder. How many SD cards and flash drives get pitched over dirty contacts?

Yes.

Also correct. PCs must recognize both adapter and card at the same time - regardless of OS...
