FWIW - I tried with my set up.. USB Wi-Fi TP-Link WN823N (LL 2.6)
I was having to manually disconnect and reconnect to my wireless after waking..
Ran
Output was similar to Fred's = same driver
Using Jerry's instruction
After reboot, Wi-Fi bars went from 3 to 4 much better

After reboot, Wi-Fi bars went from 3 to 4 much better
