I have a relative who doesn't have a Ethernet  jack to her laptop and was wondering if a USB 2.0 Male to 10/100Mbps RJ45 LAN Ethernet Network Plug Adapter Cable will work.  She has a old netbook 1.6Ghz atom and 1 GB of ram

I was looking to buy something like this

or this

The 1st one with the cable that is white says it is compatible from linux kernel 2.4 on up so if me.
I'd go with that. I have one of the blue ones you show in 2nd link . They are crap (just my personal experience saying this).
So will it be just plug and play? kuz she is not that good with technical stuff
The advert does not say that it comes with separate software so presume it is plug and play.  Must be worth a trial for the money.
The kernel will have the driver for it. So yeah. Plug and play.

If they are correct about kernel support since 2.4 which is the kernel Damn Small Linux uses.
Theoretically. It would be plug and play in Damn Small Linux also.
