Thank you gentlemen.  The first step in the suggested tutorial is to place stuff in a folder that you want to share in a created folder. What I believe to be a far better idea is what may be done in all Windows operating systems - make drives available to any or all computers on a LAN for searching or editing any file - in short all drives on a network available for use by all computers as though they were local .

For my purposes the usability of such a system is infinitely greater than the one offered -

It is easier to simply use another system .

It seems a bit curious to me that Linux Lite can easily be configured to see and use drives on Windows systems on your LAN but NOT on other LL systems  .

The concept of drives does not apply in Linux in the same way as windows.
The tutorial shows you an example on how to create and share a folder,
once you see how that works you can then see how how to share other folders.

I have have 5 LL PC's, I can access common folders across them all.

It works exactly the same as Windows, except you don't share c:\ or d:\
you share for example your \documents folder on each PC to be able to copy\move\edit files
