I have had a couple HDD crashes. Lots of noise and a constantly spinning drive are tell tale signs.

Hello!
An ad blocker, like ABP for Firefox and Chrome, might help speed you up somewhat. You also might make some online speed tests, using speedtest.net or some place like that, at the times when it's slow, to see if your ISP is giving you the speed you're paying for.
In Windows, defragmenting helps, but Disk Cleanup in Windows, and programs like CCleaner, do more - by removing unused temporary files, Windows Update backups, abandoned registry entries, and the like. (When was the last time YOU uninstalled a Windows update?)...

Hi all many thanks for replies
I read probably tomorrow bit rushed now.
I did do speed test today funny that and was only 14.mbps were I pay for 40mbps down as I'm on fliber to the box not to house I did get 37 38 first couple days.
I with BT but talking to a Indian help desk is pain full I don't hear to well just add to the problem.
Think avj point of harddrive as computer is slow when not on web when just playing music does sound like about to take off!
As said will read full then skim tomorrow.
Many Thanks all
----------
Linux Lite was the sole OS on this box no Virtual computer. My second drive is new so going make that main dive and that the old disk out could be 15+ years old. Plan to wipe then fresh install of lite 2.2
I did donate as so much good help many thanks all.

Hello!
I get slow here sometimes, too. I notify AT&T, they remotely check my line, and the speed comes back.
I'm not a big fan of outsourced customer service, either. I just keep calling back over and over again until I have one on the line who I can halfway understand...
