We need to know what graphics card your using first before we can recommend a driver Smile

Graphics:  Card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD/ATI] Juniper XT [Radeon HD 5770] bus-ID: 07:00.0 chip-ID: 1002:68b8
X.Org: 1.15.1 driver: fglrx Resolution: [email protected], [email protected]
GLX Renderer: AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series GLX Version: 4.3.12798 - CPC 13.35.1005 Direct Rendering: Yes
As from personal experience , I had my install working with the Catalyst Driver at one time , then reinstalled my distro because of experiments that went south big time , I just did a fresh reinstall then tried the newest Catalyst Driver & screwed the install again because of it , now I m with Obiaf PPA but it s on the bleading edge so to speak , so not recommended for stable lts installs , but for me , it doesn t matter much , used to be with either Aptosid , Siduction , Semplice , so it was a ride . lol

Here s some response from amd itself : http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.c...did=182221

Also have a look at Scott s link above .
I only have one issue the games freeze and lock up for 30 seconds and then work? also the windows minimizing are a bit laggy?
This might solve the issue , but still another bleeding edge ubuntu ppa , but had no issue with : https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

I can t say that their wont be any issues as always .
how I install this any ideas? i am not %100 sure xorg-edgers fresh X crack
I did it that way : open Synaptic , then in Synaptic you get to Settings on top of window ! s , click on it , go to Repositories , click on Other Softwares on top again , then add this repo in it :

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/xorg-edgers/ppa/ubuntu trusty main

Press on Close on buttom right of window .

then refresh repo , Mark Upgrade then Apply . Should be good . After that I would reboot .
