Hi Folks,
I'm Bruno and I live in the UK. I've been using LL2 for about 3 weeks now and I think it is the business!
I've been distro-hopping for a few months after using this lappie with Win8 and, being unable to upgrade to Win8.1 (I tried, believe me I tried :-\ ) I moved over to linux.
I've settled on LL2 because, well, I like it.

Welcome to Linux Lite. Sorry about you not being able to successfully pull off the Windows 8.1 upgrade.
Any one or more of a number of things can cause it to puke. Fortunately, I never had any issues with it or the subsequent updates, which are also quite large.
I'd suggest some things that might help, but you've already made the right choice...

Win8 is history now, I tried it a few times, but all I kept getting was an error no. when it finished. :-\ tried a few things, no luck.
So I called it a day with that one. I'm glad really, neither me or my wife liked it, the poor little lappie used to sit in the corner gathering dust (we have a desktop in a spare room with Win7 on which we use, wifes work pc really)
So I asked the wife if she minded me putting a linux os on the lappie, she said ok and the rest is history.
