Hey, yeah i'm having a problem with the XFCE Power Manager.
Under the settings Monitor: "Put display to sleep when computer is inactive for" and "Switch off display when computer is inactive for"
I have them both set to never but the laptop screen/display still goes off after 10 minutes, if the laptop hasn't been touch. If I set it to 1 minute, it works fine it switches off after 1 minute but if i set them both to never or 60 minutes then the laptop screen/display still switches off after 10 minutes.
It's very annoying when watching a video on youtube or a movie and then the screen/display goes off and i have to move the mouse to turn the display back on.
If anyone could help thanks.
I have struggled with this at times myself! Just wondering if you should also look at Settings/Screensaver. There is an Advanced tab for Screensaver that has also has a section for Display Power Management. I wonder if you have something enabled there that is overriding your Power Manager settings?
Same thing here also , as you said , seems like xscreensaver fights power manager . When one looks at a vid , it can be annoying some times .
Does disabling DPMS makes any difference?
XFCE Power Manager -> General -> Monitor power management contor <- Uncheck this
I don t know , I just removed Xscreensaver , I ll see what it will do .
Thanx Misko , if what I did doesn t work to my tasts , I ll give it a shot .
Removing Xscreensaver will remove the option to use use screensavers, if that doesn't bother you then go for it. Otherwise I would simply change the Screensaver settings or configure Light Locker.

I tried this and it still turns off after 10 mins
and i also have the screensaver disabled
Lets keep this simple. All you need to do is this:
Make sure you select disable screensaver and restart the daemon.
These are my settings off my main machine and they work.
ok i think i fixed it, under Session and Startup and on the Application Autostart, i had Screensaver and Screen Locker unchecked like this:
but I turn those back on and now it seems my display doesn't turn off after 10 minutes.

I can not open Lock Locker Settings, that is the first time ever seeing those settings for me. I go to Setting and then click on Light Locker settings, it opens up for like 1 sec but it closes right away before i can look at it?

Thanx Jerry , as you wrote , it doesn t bother me on my end . I guess it depends on preferences .
