Hi btsnpcs,

Yes the the Germans love their "Hardcore Techno", I lived their mid 80's thru to 94.
They took there influence from the UK/USA Techno scene, but went harder.

The first Techno stuff came out of the amazing stuff going on in Detroit/Chicago
A real mix of African-American/House/Funk.... + New Technology > Synths/Drum Machine the classic TR-808/TR-909

One of the first you would recognise as "Techno" ~ 1983 (you can hear influences of Kraftwerk/Tangerine Dream, German Electronic Bands)

Then you get the House/Techno crossover

Google Kevin Saunderson and The Belleville Three, the Pioneers in Techno...
This was a Big Hit in the UK in 89

You mentioned German Techno, just for fun watch the "Viking"

It the immortal words of Monty Python... and now for something completely different....
Now at the other extreme of my musical tastes which are extremely wide and varied.
Probably one of the most delightful classics and well known,
I wonder how much of todays music will last 200+ years.?

No probs, I could go on for hours about music...
If you exclude "novelty music"(Birdy Song/Shaddap your face...) there isn't anything I don't listen to...

Some of my current listening... Octave One... Old Skool
