Hi,

My Linux Lite install will not update.  I tried clicking on the links in the Updates & Error Fixes post and it just takes me to the support site with the different categories.  It doesn't take me to the specific post.  I'm having the below issue if anybody could help.

Thank you

Hi!

Unfortunately, the info you provided is scarce.
The quoted message chunk, states that you are running some Lite 7.x.
In the support data, you entered as your OS Linux Lite 8.0. This is very confusing.
We can't help you if you do not provide enough and correct information.

Please, run this command from the command line, and post the result in a reply:

Code:
inxi -c 0 -ACdGMNSz

Best regards!

My apologies for the late reply.  I am running Linux Lite 8.0.  I put in what I got when trying to update via terminal.  I temporarily booted into a different kernel if your wondering about that.  I still can't update for the same error.

You are trying to run a Linux Lite 7.8 in a Lite 8.0 shell. That is why the update fails. You are trying to update a Lite 7.8 using Lite 8.0 tools.
The update tool looks for a Lite 7.8 update which matches the kernel signature.

I recommend you to install Lite 8.2 using the ISO.
Your system specs are way beyond the minimum requirements so there is no reason to worry.
My laptop has similar specs (see the signature) and works flawless.

Best regards!
